Sanctus Bellum Announce Official Release Date for 2nd Album

Houston, TX doom/classic metal band Sanctus Bellum is pleased to announce that its sophomore album, The Shining Path, will be officially released on June 12, 2012. The album, which was recorded and mixed by Joe Omelchuck at RBI Recording, is the first to feature second guitarist, Maurice Eggenschwiler.

Speaking on the album, Sanctus Bellum bassist Ben Yaker commented that “This album represents a significant progression for us. We’ve really developed as songwriters in the two years since we released Return to Dust and I think that the results speak for themselves.”

According to Yaker, the new songs are substantially more intricate than those found on Return to Dust with a greater emphasis on guitar harmonies and classic metal song structures. “We really went for broke with this one,” adds Yaker, “I think people are going to be very pleased with this album.”

Featuring songs such as ‘Spiral Jacobs,’ ‘Ephaniah,’ and the album’s epic title track, The Shining Path is now available for pre-order at http://www.sanctusbellum.bigcartel.com. All pre-orders will be shipped as soon as the album arrives from the pressing plant. In addition, the band will be playing material from the new album during their appearance at Milwaukee’s Days of the Doomed II Festival on June 15th (http://www.daysofthedoomed.com). A Houston CD release show will follow on July 21st at Concert Pub North with Malice.

The Shining Path:

01. The Shining Path (08:57)
02. Spiral Jacobs (06:47)
03. Vessel (06:17)
04. Dumb Luck Divinity (10:06)
05. Beautiful Swimmers (06:23)
06. Ephaniah (08:09)

The album’s first two tracks can be streamed online now at the band’s YouTube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/SanctusBellum?feature=mhee.
