I guess we'll know in 2012 if Bautista can break the curse of Luis, as it's pretty clear he's gonna have another monster year, which would put him at #2 and counting...

Chris Young has a tear in his shoulder, same injury from last season, and is done for the season. No surprise there but tough break for him.

Met top pitching prospect set to undergo Tommy John surgery.

Not a good day for Met pitching.

The Giants would appear to be the perfect team to deal with to grab some pitching. The Reyes deal could end up happening.

This might be all she wrote for Young...his velocity was way off, and now this...speaking of eternally injured pitchers, anybody want to take bets on how long Peavy will last before he goes back on the DL?...he makes his first start tomorrow night...it's rumored that White Sox trainers had to duck tape his arm to his body...

Halladay vs Johnson tonight. Doesn't get much better that this.

The Halladay v. Johnson duel was as good, if not better, than I thought it would be...aside from the pitching spectacular, I was reminded of the continued greatness of the Marlins farm system - so many quality prospects making the jump...was also glad to see John Buck let Shane Victorino have it after he took that silly bush league swipe at Nunez on the last play of the game...Victorino's better than that...

Things sure went to shit in a hurry for Peavy. I was shocked when I saw the other day that he's only won 102 career games. I would have thought he'd be closer to 200 than 100 wins as dominant as he'd been for so long. He must have been hurt by playing for bad Padre teams for so long. Sabathia already has 160 wins and he's only 30 years old.

Jose Bautista has been the steal of my fantasy draft. He was my fifth round pick and he's been playing at a TOP FIVE player level. It's scary to think what kind of stats he'd have if he hadn't missed eight games between his paternity leave and pinched nerve in his neck last week. I'm hoping the ride continues for a long time this season.

I can't believe Bautista is actually the real deal.

Garcia and Colon have also surprised me but I still have my doubts that they will keep it up.

Usually I'd be happy about it, but given the Mets ineptitude this year and the fact he's my ace on my fantasy squad, but Cliff Lee needs to get some freakin run support already. I am tired of racking up these losses with him when he pitches quality games.

Turns out I have Nolasco going tonight in fantasy as well. Nothing like having duel SP's.

The Red Sox have to be kicking themselves for signing John Lackey to an expensive, long-term contract. He's shit the bed once he signed with them and this year he's been absolutely horrible. A huge mistake.

this^

guy is absolutely horrible...moreso than Dice-K. His pitches just rolling through the strike zone and you can see the hitters eyes light up. He very well could have worse numbers. He had AL west domination and thats one, if not the main reason they went after him.

Ike Davis has been my most consistent player right out of spring training and now in a walking boot. Greeeeaaat

Kendrys Morales having more surgery and out for the season. Apparently scar tissue formed and needs to be removed.

Angels got lucky with losing Lackey when they did for sure. I don't remember did they try to resign him or did they kinda know he was done?

seems it was too easy for these 'preseason experts' to tag Bautista as a fluke or a roid head.

I am currently reaping the benefits of said bust/fluke in one of my leagues. He could potentially hit more this year.

My problem in one league is underachieving (i.e. too many Red Sox players on my roster)

Who didn't expect Bautista to be a one year wonder? I don't think that was just the writers and preseason experts. Far more haters than fans in this case; I really can't recall anyone ever defending his season and contract extension.

I was onboard..he was my 3rd pick overall. I was thinking 30-35, but that certainly doesnt bring him down to a fluke status.

I got him as well...second round though...was a wise decision to go with him over Werth-less in Washington...didn't know about Ike Davis in a walking boot...that means I've got to deal with him and Soto on the injured side, and who knows how long until Peavy's arm falls off for good...yeah, my team could become a triage unit fast...

Ike busted his ankle on a infield pop up where there was some miscommunication, or just lack of communication, between him and Wright and the two collided. Wright made the catch but also took Davis out, who just went on the DL. The hits keep coming for NY.

Reyes and Davis are the 2 positives to that team so far this season. Now it's just Reyes.

I don't see the Cards as legit players.

They got the whole Pujols situation to deal with and I think Reyes goes to a team that will get him signed to an extension.

Just how I see things playing out with that....

My apologies for leaving Beltran out of that equation. He's reminded me 3 times today that he's having a pretty good year himself.

Do you all think Gaby Sanchez is for real? Picked him up about a week ago, and the guy is killing it. Totally making up for lost production of a lot of the rest of my players.

As I mentioned before, I really don't see a lot Marlins games on the west coast (apparently Hanley Ramirez is a huge fantasy pariah now per the recent Yahoo article; glad I was never sold on the guy!), but I'm now carrying Buck as my C and Sanchez as my 1B. So I guess some Marlins games are gonna be in my future viewing.

Gaby had his moments last year as well (had him)..this will be the year that will make or break him in the fantasy eyes. Can he hold it up all year is the question, because he was off and on last year. I like him and almost drafted him later round in one league I'm in.

is it me, or is this the biggest transition year for young up and coming players?? You had the hype on Heyward and Strasburg last year..but this year big influx of young solid talent.

Britton, Pineda, Smoak, Ike Davis, Hellickson, Kimbrell, Stanton, Castro, etc etc...nice to see, because some, if not most are the real deal
