Two episodes in and I'm kind of digging it. H. Jon Benjamin and Eugene Mirman on a show from Loren Bouchard is a pretty good combination.

totally dig it. "the shining" was awesome, especially the bathroom scene.

Lorne Bouchard and H. John Benjamin are both douchebags.

I remember working with Lorne and he came in and started ripping artists work right in front of them. Arbitrarily. He didn't find any appeal in classic Jay Ward/Ed Benedict design. Look at this! This looks like old cartoons.

Look at the designs for "Bob's Burgers"...

I watched the first episode and the second episode is currently waiting for me on my DVR. I think the show is pretty funny. The daughter who wears the rabbit ears cracks me up.

Those Bob's Burgers characters are pretty straight forward and "safe" looking. Just like a lot of modern cartoon series that come and go. The characters and the content are much more important in keeping a series going strong though, so as douchy as they may be the show could still have it where it counts. Just look at South Park. That barely counts as animation, but it's an outstanding series because of the content.

I havent seen it. But from the commercials I recognize the voice of the main dude to be the same voice from an Adult swim show called "Lucy, daughter of the devil", which was the best freakin show Ive ever seen. Well, maybe that was over the top praise, but it was pretty fuckin good.

That's H. Jon Benjamin. He's also on Archer on FX (which rules) and he played Coach McGuirk on Home Movies and is the cashier at the not-Kwik-E-Mart on Family Guy. He's got a pretty distinct voice and he gets around, has done a bunch of stuff on Adult Swim, including Lucy, Daughter of the Devil, which did indeed kick ass.
