It's fucking great. "Just a Little Boy" is in very heavy rotation at the moment, and the "Bring The Sun" 34-minute centerpiece is a force to behold. Swans are unbeatable at the moment, IMO. I am really fucking excited to see them next month.
The live version of "Just A Little Boy" is very different and also rules:

Giving it my second listen now. Nice to hear Giras vocals a bit more on this one. Still a lot of The Seer noise/building style stuff. Can't wait to see it live. Unfortunate Venue in Vancouver.
New stuff still does zip for me. One of the many bands i should like, but i just don't. Oh, well.

I ordered it blind/deaf. The version with the live DVD. Confident the new material be 120-130 minutes long; 20% of it will be STELLAR, 40% decent-middling type of stuff and 40% filler and I'm good with that. Their live show is where it is at.

True, after finally seeing them in 2011 I realized my error in not having given them more attention over the years. Their shows are at a completely different level than an ordinary rock band, not just live music but living music. Seeing the DC show in a couple of weeks.
I saw Swans last night and of course they were fucking great. Set list included a couple new songs, Oxygen, Bring the Sun, The Apostate and A Little God In My Hands.
That drummer really kills it, every time. As magnetic as Gira is, I spend a lot of time focusing on the drummer pounding away with precision and force.

I concur, they were excellent in DC. That was the first show of the tour, was interesting to watch them start cold and get their power up. Would be killer to see another show later in the tour to see how far out they end up getting. Fantastic live band.

Nice to hear about the shows! They don't come out here until around Labor Day and the only other USA shows are in June, which is the worst time for me to do any cross-country travelling, due to work commitments. (I am scheming a weekend jump to see Kraftwerk in Vegas in June, however :) ).
I actually haven't heard any of the new one yet. It arrived in the mail a couple weeks back, but I'm going to rectify that over this holiday weekend...

Spun this for the first time tonight and I'm stoked! I can already tell this is going to have way more staying power for me than The Seer did. Seems like they've really hit their stride with this...
Is anyone planning on going to the Portland, ME show on 2/17? I'm 99% sure I'm going to be making the drive up from NY for it, but due to where I'm staying I won't be able to bring anyone with me. So it'd be neat to meet up with someone(s) there.
And this album still kicks ass. My runner up for the year behind the new Godflesh LP.
