This album finally has its hold over me. So good and such perfect driving music, hasn't left my car CD player since it entered my car.

I absolutely LOVE Iota's Tales and this one is pretty much in the same league. A little different, this one is more bluesy and groovey (while being less spacey and psychedelic) but the Joey T (I think that's his name) Stamp is on both albums very clearly and there is no drop off in quality between bands. I think I prefer the musical style and song structure of Tales but I prefer the music and groove of Good Morning Harakiri. It seems like Iota's Tales was largely overlooked when it came out and this one seems to be sharing the same fate. It's almost a crime. If you liked Tales you got to give this one a shot.

This. Got me home last night. I tend to judge albums by their first and last track, and this album exceeds in that standard. One of my favorites this year.

Edit: Apparently, I need to be schooled on Iota.

Guitarist and vocalist from the Dwellers was the guitarist and vocalist of Iota. I'd also have to believe he was the main songwriter for both groups, given the closeness in sound between these two bands.

If you haven't heard Iota's Tales you really should, especially if you dig this one. Phenomenal album...my favorite heavy rock album of the last decade. The music is a bit more more open and spacey and without the bluesy influence than the Dwellers but there's no mistaking the two bands come from the same family tree. Honestly, the Dwellers could have kept the Iota moniker and no one would have batted an eye. But, hey, I guess its a brand new cast of musicians behind Joey T and there was a slight change in direction to their songwriting so the name change makes some sense.

But be warned....the closing track on Tales is the weakest track of the album. I kinda think it would have been better to have omitted it and closed things out on the 23 minute masterpiece 'Dimensional Orbiter.'

It's one of the albums that I've been listening to a lot lately while I'm at work. Listening to it keeps me motivated to work, even if it's just for about 42 minutes.
