This gig is only a couple weeks away. I am so honored to be playing the same bill with so many great bands. Really looking forward to seeing The Skull, haven't seen Trouble since 1990.

My boss revoked my vacation day.
So, I'm going for Sunday only... just booked the Radisson (or whatever its called) for only $90/night (tax included). Booking.com has a few rooms left at that rate.
Elder, Black Pyramid, Borracho, and a bunch of bands I don't know. Should be cool.

Wife broke her ankle while I was in the midst of redoing the basement. Might be able to do a day trip, but overnight is out of the question, what with the kids and the broken dog and the giant hole in the basement. Meh.

John Wilkes Booth just got added. This thing keeps getting better.

Big names are generally a negative for me. Most of the bands I like are "small".
I found some really cool bands at festivals like Emissions and SHoD that I'd never previously heard or heard of.
I imagine I'll like a few of the bands on Sunday (the only day I'm going) that I know nothing about.

Did anyone decide to go to the power of the riff fest in ny instead of this? Kinda sucks they both fall on the same weekend......

We're playing the 1st night of the fest. We're looking forward to playing along side so many other great fuckin' bands. Can't wait to be able to rock out to PILGRIM, EARTHRIDE, & WHEN THE DEADBOLT BREAKS on Friday!!

yah i'm opting that way. better lineup with more bands i like to see. i don't even know these bands at shod cept for handful and all of them at power of the riff i know and want to see. shod seems like sitting too much through what could be mediocre or uninteresting to me for just a couple i kinda like or know.

Given that there's this thing called the internet that gives you instant access to bands you've never heard, that's sort of a weak sauce excuse not to go.

I'd go for Pale Divine, Devil to Pay, Admiral Browning, Ichabod, Orodruin, Kin of Ettins, Curse the Sun, Earthride, Lord Fowl, Roadsaw, Elder, Black Pyramid, Black Thai, and Raw Radar War. That's maybe close to half the bands each day. Not too bad. Especially for Connecticut.

yeah and out of that list the only one i have some interest in is Raw Radar War. nuthin weak about choosing to go to one show over another based on what bands i actually want to see. that there is just common sense.

Infernal Overdrive has been added, as of last week, to Sunday's lineup. Set time is 2:10pm... 3rd. We are psyched to be part of this!! Other notable bands that day are Black Pyramid, Elder, Borracho and Ironman!!

Earthride pulled out on account of Kyle breaking his hand. Bummer and best to Kyle, obviously. Demand for Lo-Pan is pretty raging. Would be great to see those guys again, if it can't be Earthride.

Faces of Bayon got added to Friday.

Unfortunately, I'm out. Jill just found out she has to work on Monday.

It was really good, I saw most bands Thursday through Saturday. I think they did a really good job setting this up mixing up the styles so it never seemed to get repetitive. I was there almost 10 hours Saturday and only missed a couple bands.
There is a super deluxe feature coming but I'll mention a few highlights.
I think the best band on Saturday was Orodruin who made doom metal really exciting and there is new material coming someday maybe an EP maybe a full length. Essentially putting the knock out blow to my stamina was Devil to Pay who were blazing, have a new full length coming as well. (Pale Divine followed and were great but i had to leave before they finished because i was beat, so no The Skull) Ron from Trouble has another band called Earthen Grave who were OLD school goodness and they had the honor of covering 'Relentless'. Beelzefuzz grew on me as their set progressed, their playing is actually the opposite of fuzzy.
Lots more as well, Friday night was really really solid, will tell more later.

I really wish I could've gone, it seemed like ten thousand pounds of awesome.
