Female rocker appreciation thread

I did a quick search on he forums here and I couldn't find a thread dedicated to fave / best lady rockers and female bands. I'd like to start one myself (if there is a another similar thread, pls ignore this one!:):)). Why a thread on female rockers and bands? Simple:
1). Rock has been for too much time e "male" thing, as if the ladies out there could not rock as good as men:):)!
2). Ever since I listened to Janis Joplin and Grace Slick many moons ago, I have always thought that women sing better to my heart than any male rockers do....must be because I'm a man:):):)!!!!!
So, go ahead, post away your fave female artist, band, act whatever here:):):)

I still have a soft spot for The Pretenders, especially the first 3 albums. Chrissy Hindes(spelling?) rules on those early songs.
