Yeah that and I pointed out last night actually that we are playing teams who are pulling 2 games in 2 days. Also I think Detroit totally outplayed the caps but luck just went the other way. That loss won't be forgotten.

I know I'm still freaking depressed about it this morning. God, that was hard to take.

I still see this team "choking" in the playoffs. Not enough grit on the team, and unless Semin can get his act together in close checking games, they'll not go far.

Burmistrov has been a really nice surprise for us this year.....great offensive play, and he's usually back playing defense, where he should be. If he keeps on playing this way, he'll be a bonafide star.

Kessel has 9 goals in 8 games--good output for him so far for Toronto.

after an admittedly small sample size, I'm really liking the addition of Carcillo.
He's +5 with 2A in 5 games, and seems to have some burgeoning chemistry with Kane.

Well, my Sharks are finally starting to get in stride. A rough entrance into the season with a few consecutive losses, but the team is starting to fire on all cylinders...it's gonna be an interesting season.

I've always been a fan of CARBOMB. I read a study last season about him where even with his limited ice time he put up higher than average points for his role. good for him things are working out in chitown.

Ouch @ detroit.

Anyone catch the Jets/ Philly SHOOTOUT? 9-8 Winnipeg--crazy game, all four goaltenders by both teams were used, Pavelec was pulled and then put back in. I give Philly credit for coming back from 4 goal deficits twice, and making it close. When it was 6-2, I thought that we had it in the bag.

That game was really fun to watch. At seperate times during the game each team scored 5 unanswered goals. Defensively it was an ugly game, and it was kind of surprising that no ones +/- was destroyed. A few guys had a -3, but with a score like that I would have expected someone to get a -6 or something along those lines. Actually, I kind of regret turning down tickets to the game that night after what happened.

Toronto is playing some very good hockey. I look forward to seeing what they do in the season. Not looking forward to the fans however.

No doubt. The team hasn't won the Cup, essentially, since the Rolling Stones started as a band, and they have loyal throngs that have been diehards through all of the lean years. I've seen very few examples in my lifetime that totally embody such dedication to mediocrity as a Toronto Maple Leafs fan. Any other team with that long of a record of failure would have likely been long gone by now.

I hate the Vancouver Canucks and their coattail riders (Vancouver had nowhere near this amount of fans back in the 90's or prior).....can you imagine what would happen if the Leafs actually went significantly far in the playoffs, or (gasp) won the Cup? I mean, these are the same assholes that think that Mats Sundin is up there with like, Lemieux and Bossy or whoever. And in Canada, any of Toronto's teams always gets favoured by the media, so i'd seriously hate to see Leafs mania if they actually had a slice of success for a change. One can only imagine the amount of pent up "....see? I told you so!" or "good things come to those who wait" styled rationalizations coming from their deluded fan base.

Roloson played really good last night, superstar style. We had tons of good scoring chances, and I have to give the guy his due for that excellent shutout.

Probably because even with the plane ticket it's cheaper than buying Toronto home game tickets.

I think that's probably what some Jets fans have done, too--they figure that there's no way that they'll be able to get season tickets or any tickets any time soon, and even if they did find tickets this season, it would cost alot, so they're best off just paying for the plane and hotel to go somewhere else.
