Yeah, this should push the illegal downloads through the roof.

(Sorry, but this is where I have to chime in, and the booze helps.)

Yeah, because nothing instills confidence in record labels, promoters and fans like the frontman/spokesperson of a band having an epic, public meltdown. Burning bridges with the small community who supported us to begin with is just a bonafide winning strategy.

Personally, I'm really humbled and extremely grateful that Danno is choosing to release this, despite everything that has occurred/occurring this week. He reads these forums and is just as disappointed in how all of this is unfolding. Despite all this, he's still going ahead with the release.

I worked really fucking hard on this album and I can assure you, having our 'leader' publicly train wreck wasn't really part of any game plan and serves no absolutely no purpose since any money or success made in this business is through playing live and selling merch and I don't see that ever happening again.

Andy can choose to do whatever he wants with his life. He chose to quit the band. The rest of us do not want to see our efforts swept under some rug because one member wants to eradicate the band, his role and its entire history and believe it meant nothing and chastise others for believing in our efforts. It meant something to the other members of this band and to those few who supported us.

I took over the Facebook page because I was tired of the negativity and wanted to post good news to the fans who actually liked us and supported us. My only goal is to release the album and retain some kind of goodwill between the 'band' and those who were kind to us along our journey.

If Andy wishes to absolve himself from the group, that's fine. He doesn't speak for the rest of us though and this is quite frustrating to say the very least.

Alright. All done. Thanks for the ear. Cheers.

Damn. This thread is entertaining.

Clay. Thanks for the words man. I, for one, thought Black Pyramid was righteous and I'm thrilled that this album is still going out.

High five, Clay.

Good man.

Find someone else who won't break zen-edge and have a total mental failure.

get someone that can actually sing, and you guys can pull off something down the road. Put me in the 'couldnt get past vocals' camp.

Hopefully it was obvious that I was being completely, 100%, fucking sarcastic about it "maybe being a new marketing tactic".

Fucking LEANERS.

However, definitely not sarcastic about the vocals. They sucked. Band, awesome. Singer, shitty. Did this Dingerdongerwhatever dude do the singing? If that's the case, then he's doing you guys a favor. Keep us posted to anything new you guys do that doesn't include this nut job.

Nah, Andy's vocals ruled and fit the music perfectly.

Thanks for all the clarification Clay. You guys were/are easily one of my favorite new bands and I'll be keen to check out what future endeavors you guys may pursue.

cheers, man. in the past, i've been in a band where one member self-destructed and seemingly did his best to sabotage any chance the rest of us had of moving forward...perhaps not to this degree, but i certainly understand, and wish you the best. this was all very uncomfortable to watch unfold, and i hope the remaining band members can pull through this and continue to do something you enjoy.

This explains his reasons for leaving, which seem valid enough;

I didn't have a problem with his life decision to quit music. Shit happens and that's the world. It's his trolling after the fact that has disappointed me. Fucking lame.

No yeti..been listening to enough music throughout the years, that when I shut it off due to the vocals, they DO NOT fit the music. Lumbering, plodding vocal style..no range, no depth..No thanks.Made it through 1 song and halfway through another youtube vid and was done with it.

i'll back him up here. one look at the dude's music blog will show you the droning dissonance he helps himself to on a daily basis...meaning he'll reconcile the sound of something and find a melody more readily than most. sometimes i disagree when it comes to certain points of taste, but i certainly see what he is saying and respect his ear.

If you decide to continue with a new singer, how about a name change?

I suggest "Attention Whore".

Though I bet in retrospect he regrets telling Andy that royalties would be paid in espresso machines.

That interview is a load of jibberish. You are tired of playing in a band and quit? Fine. But pissing on the people who actually supported you is truly lame. Go away and whine somewhere else.

But it is really all their own business. I don't remember this type of hoopla when HYDROZEEN broke up publically on the ol' sr.com. And those guys consistently brought the lolz.

Didn't Hydrozeen break up because the Stonerrock.com-package-tour didn't happen? If I remember correctly the lack of support from the community was one of the reasons that milestone in rock-history never took off.

man, just keep on going without him. why should a band disband if one member doesn't want to play in it anymore? just take your time and find someone else...I'm sure there are great guitarists / vocalists out there just waiting to be in Black Pyramid. long live Black Pyramid!!!
