seeing alot of Peyton Manning to Jets buzz..and it's warranted. Imagine if it sets up a Giants/Jets Superbowl in 2014?

that's just talk coming from the jets locker room about their preferences. Just wishful thinking among jets players. I honestly don't think that Peyton manning is going anywhere. And I seriously doubt that he would want to play in the cold after playing in a dome his whole career. I think luck will get traded

they cant take on Luck and absorb Mannings contract/roster kicker..I expect him to be moved. If Manning cant play again, they have a nice 1mil buyout..so Im thinking, as tough as a decision as it is, they have to make the move, moving forward.

Then again..that number one pick is gold plated gem this year, whether its qb or rb..someone could very well be enamored with either and offer the farm..who knows

I'm hearing that Peyton is ahead of schedule right now in his rehab. They said the neck was fine it's at about 90% right now. With Peyton manning the colts are Super Bowl contenders. Without him they are rebuilding so may as well go ahead and rebuild while they are Super Bowl contenders

Are you guys forgetting who Peyton manning is? That year that Aaron Rogers had this year. Peyton manning has it every year

It really baffles me that you guys will totally blow off the greatest qb that the nfl has ever seen. Peyton manning will be fine and he will throw for 4000 and 30 next year because that is what he does

I don't think anyone has a clear idea on what to expect from Manning and his neck. I think the nature of the injury is something that raises a lot of question marks and thus concern. I don't buy the talk that he's fully healthy until I see it, we were also led to believe Manning was going to be playing in Week One up to only a few days prior to the start of the season. Given Manning's salary and questions on whether Manning will be able to get past the injury raises a lot of uncertainty on how to proceed for any team trying to trade for him. If it was just a matter of knowing he simply needs x amount of time before he will return to his old self, the Manning situation would be a lot more clear.

And, honestly, I think the reason Indy is largely unsure about how to move ahead with Manning/Luck is due to behind the scenes drama from either Manning and/or Luck trying to block the Colts from having both guys. I do think with the new rookie salary structures a team like Indy could afford to hold onto both. Perhaps a Reggie Wayne might be a cap casualty but that's probably a loss you'd take to hold onto your current franchise while owning his eventual replacement.

Totally. I believe that game was the most excellent tit-for-tat 4th quarter I've ever seen. Just fucking mind-blowing. Was there ever a better one? I'm no NFL expert but, WOW. SF are true champs. Hats off to the QB and #85 and the entire outfit that day. History.

There's a show on tv\cable today the 100 best NFL players. PM was number 8. I gotta go watch the rest b4 todays GBP game. I'd like to see a 49er\Pack superbowl if that's possible.

Haha, TJ Yates just threw away HOU's season. Clear double coverage but he chucked it anyway, Reed w/ the INT.

The NFC game is gonna be good

Tell me who's 'blowing him off' and i might be able to answer your question..Apparently the Colts are worse off than any of knew..you're qb goes down and you quit like that? on both sides of the ball? It runs deeper than Peyton not be able to go this year. Your RB situation is not good, alot of key positional players getting old/banged up on offense and defense..hell throw in some bad draft prospects, bad scouting, bad front office decisions, and some character issues that became more apparent during the shit season..guys quit, plain and simple. You think Peyton comes back and all that changes back to where it was?

C'mon..Manning is one of the greatest thats ever played the game..It comes to more than just him and it might be time to rebuild. if you have an aging trade chip and a potential stud at number one, it might be the fast lane to either more picks, starting players to rebuild with

if he comes back 100% next season, as a Colt. How good is this team? I think, not so good..It's time to use the draft, start over, reload..There's a reason the front office just got cleaned out. They drafted qb's as backups..the starter gets hurt and they go to a guy off the street (Collins) and you're going to tell me all is good?

Yates lost Houston that game with a number of bad decisions, that last one probably was the least offensive of the day since it was probably a coaches call. But every interception he threw was because he displayed very little ability to look past that first option. He got lucky a couple other times that the Ravens didn't intercept him a few more times (a Reed miss and a Lewis miss come to mind). I think Yates has established himself as one of the more desirable backup QB's as he has shown the ability to win but I think he has some significant shortcomings, like not being able adjust when your first option is covered, that he is at least at this time, not s true starting caliber quarterback. If he can develop the ability to adjust on the fly and make multiple reads than he might be able to make a case for himself that he should start.

That said, Flacco was barely better. NE should be able to beat them pretty easily, Baltimore's only chance at that game is if Flacco becomes the quarterback he thinks he is.

Rice is gonna run all over patsies making Flaccos job easier. They're still gonna have to play a little better than today.

Well, if the Giants do happen to lose this it won't be because of anything they did.

I hate Eli Manning more than just about any other football player. It pains me to see him succeed.

Giants vs 49'ers should be a good matchup. Niners better win.

Will not be surprised if the Giants beat San fran, and then beat The Cheats again in the super bowl. This run is eerily similar to the '08 team, except that Eli is playing at a much higher level. At least more consistently at big moments.

Sound like a sour success hater with that 'cheaters' statement...gets old

You do realize they all did this right? most,if not all teams sent a gopher down to record walk throughs, just a spurned ex-coach saw it being done to his (Mangini) team and threw Bellichick under the bus. Saw an interview with Herm Edwards that could hardly keep a straight face when he plead the 5th on if it was an ongoing problem in the NFL (when it was first brought to light)

You just like my buddies little sister who says the same thing, as a Pats hater..I dont bother getting into it with her though

There was a code of silence with this particular 'issue' with filming practices, and the only thing worse than doing it, is doing it yourself and then years later throwing people under the bus when you hands arent clean.

Niners should win at home with that defense, but this is a much scarier matchup than Green Bay, homefield notwithstanding.

My prediction: Niners/Ravens. Niners by 3 in the T-day rematch. #6.

An in depth discussion on football with a Patriots "fan"? You're right, no thanks.

Glad to see a 49ers-Giants matchup in the NFC...hats off to Coughlin & Co. for getting the defense to gel and jump starting that once woeful running attack...same to Belichick & Co. for getting a suspect defense to shut down Tebow not once, but twice, when arguably better defenses repeatedly fell short during the regular season...couldn't believe how out of sync the Packers were on offense yesterday...as I've said before, I'm not convinced the WRs beneath Jennings on the depth chart merit all the hype...they showed why yesterday...conversely, Nicks and Cruz showed why they do, in fact, merit the hype, and they could be the difference makers next week against the 49ers...as for GB's defense...well, it would be a stretch to call it a defense...glad to see arrogant pieces of shit like A.J. Hawk and Clay Matthews get a long overdue dose of humiliation.

Hellified match ups for both games next week w/ the AFC game being the more interesting of the two, IMO...anybody know if Ed Reed is okay after hurting his ankle/knee during the final play against Houston?...that could alter things if he's not back there knocking heads.

49ers v Saints was one of the better NFL games I've seen. 4 lead changes in the last few minutes, it was almost as exciting as a decent rugby match. Went to to bed at 3 am with Brady and the Patriots looking classy as ever.

The lack of physical intensity was surprising though, for a team that was supposed to be a very physical defence (49ers) the lack of pressure on Brees and lack of hits on the rushers was notable. has the game been de-powered since I left eh states (early 90s) or is it just that rugby has got bigger, tougher and faster while NFL has stayed the same? Incidentally, that timing fits with rugby going professional and rugby definitely has done through those changes.
