What's up with Braylon Edwards?...haven't heard much on that front...Eagles put Assante Samuel on the trade block...I wonder if the market for him will be as deceptively soft as it was for Cullen Jenkins...the Bears continue to buy the contents of the Cowboy's dumpster w/ Marion Barber being the latest signing...first Williams, then Hurd, now Barber...great pick ups if it was 2007...

Cowboys unloading. I hate them, so that's fine with me. I side with the Bears fans at the bar, even though I'm really a Pats/Chargers guy, so I'm intrigued by the storylines here.

Braylon Edwards is Roy Williams's twin, in effect.

What's the goddamn deal with the NFL?? Are the Eagles and the fucking Patriots then only teams that can sign any fucking players of note? The Eagles, seemingly, every goddamn year sign great free agents. Meanwhile, my stupid ass Cowboys do NOTHING. NOTHING. Nice stadium, Jerry. Nice contract extensions, too. It's made it to the point where we're lucky if we can sign a snow cone vendor to patrol the sidelines during training camp. No cap room. No financial resources? What a joke.

The Jets, in the AFC seem to be the ones making all the big name/stupid money contracts. The Pats got 2 big names, and now seem content on signing some of their own. With more cuts each day, you'll see some name players out there. Ty Warren cut surprised me the more than the signing of Haynesworth/Ocho. He was a first rounder and a cog in that d-line when healthy..that may have been some of it..coming off an injury, he may have got off track with the holdout and didnt show up in shape (failed first round of conditioning tests upon release), and his cap hit was over/on/about 5mil.

Dallas has some dead weight..Williams..Barber..you should be happy to see them go. Neither was an integral part of their offense last year.

how by resigning a couple of their own players? they got santonio for 10 million a year and hes the best wr in the afc east. they resigned cromartie and he was the one making plays last year while revis talked about making plays. so that just leaves plaxico. im sure the 3 mil hes gonna make this year is going to cause johnson and johnson to go bankrupt. now lets talk about the patriots. they made 2 really good trades to get 2 has beens. you think ocho should be able to do something on the other side of welker. being welker and housmanzadeh are the same type of wideout with welker being just a little bit better than hous was in his prime. but not by much though. and then haynesworth he ought to do ok because he is good. he just didnt feel like playing for the skins.i think the vikings are going to lose the most and do the dumbest shit this offseason

Barber wasn't and he was definitely expendable. Williams, as shaky as he is, he's better than anything else they have on the roster if you're looking at a #3 receiver. But is he expensive? No question.

I have no problem with cuts per se, what I have a problem with is Dallas never signs any free agents to bolster the roster. It's always "oh, we've got a guy who we can fit in there". Uh, NO YOU DON'T!!!

i just like the fact that jason garrett has went back to making rookies earn the stars on their helmets. the cowboys are doing the right thing. its going to take a couple of years to right the wrong that has been done in dallas.

I like the Cowboys' cuts, but was dismayed by the contract we gave Marcus Spears and the fact we let Bowen go (to the Skins). Seems we are content with our lack of a pass rush, or are expecting Rob Ryan to make everything better.

I will be totally shocked if Haynesworth is still playing by the end of the season. Despicable human being.

Usi going somewhere?

I'm never going to question Bellichick signing questionable character guys..he must have had a sit down with the guy, letting him know, what good is a blockbuster contract if no one wants the player on their team. I'm pretty sure Bill knows how to tap into this guy's abilities. History tells me he can, and he's a highly respected coach in out generation. Not worried. I dont have to like his character...Ive come to hate a lot of players in all professional sports throughout the years, and there are always a few that end up with either the Pats, B's, Sox, that I love to have on my team if they play like they are capable of. Haynesworth is not an exception.

Ocho is an unfocused player and was playing on a poorly run franchise. From the ownership down, Cincinnati has always been a 3rd tier team that only gets up for divisional matchups on occasion. Housh and Ocho could have been HOF receivers with health and something resembling a quarterback throwing to them. Sure Ocho is past his prime, but appears in shape and has great routes/hands. For a 5th rounder? No brainer.

I'll throw my darkhorse out there now..Barring injury..I like Tampa Bay's defense, Blount in the backfield and Williams/Freeman combo makes for some good football, and can matchup with the Saints and Falcons pretty well in the division. They come out of there with a decent divisional record, they could be a wildcard monster.

10 million for Holmes is a joke. I know you cant low ball him, on his way to free angency but you have to look at the offense he's in, and has been in. He's a 700-800 yard receiver and a complimentary type of 2-3 rd level receiver imo. Never saw this guy obv how the Jets (and some of you see him). He's not a beast...at all

There has to be levels of ability..sure he's fast, decent hands and average size but I dont think "Sanchez to anyone" is going to be echoing throughout the stadium loudspeakers anytime soon. Andre Johnson, Mike Williams, Steve Johnson, Hixon, Nicks, Manningham, Boldin, Fitzgerald to name a few off the top of my head..are beasts. Then you put your speed burners, that get along on pure speed/matchups, not necessarily size, like Mike Wallace, Steve Smith, Deshean Jackson, etc etc....not until then we start talking the next level guys where I think Holmes comes in. 10 million doesnt fit the bill. At all.

I like his skill set and size, alot. He's young.

The Giants receiving corp is nothing but mismatches for ANY defense. Eli just needs to stop being a shithead and they'll be aces.

he has the tools but he cant catch. i believe that steve smith "panthers" is a has been too. as far as speedy wideouts go santonio is only a few notches behind deshean jackson. he is better than the rest of the speedy guys. none of them are as good as andre johnson. watch crabtree this year. it is do or die for him this year. i think alex smith will do well this year

I don't get expendable pro football players with non-guaranteed contracts that come to camp completely out of shape and run and running the risk of getting released. I guess maybe they feel they have made enough $$$ already that they are set but it doesn't make sense to me. At least quit and save yourself the humiliation of getting released because you are lazy and out of shape.

^ Case in point: 'da Bears Marcus Harrison...there's no rhyme or reason aside from "stupid is, stupid does"...this is the guy who got kicked off the team at Arkansas for driving around with a shit ton of guns and drugs in the trunk of his car...

As much as i like Crabtree, i think he has a few things going against him. One, he doesn't really have a good QB, Smith seems more comfortable with dumping the ball off to Gore and Davis, and finally he is already having problems with the same foot that he had trouble with his finl year in college. I hope that i'm wrong and he has a good season this year.

Crabtree's gonna be a decent WR, at best...he could thrive on a team that places an onus on three WRs, but that ain't gonna happen in San Francisco...Vernon Davis is the go-to guy in that offense, and for good reason...

I suspect this might be another year of underachievement for the 49ers...hell, that division is so shitastic they might back into a playoff bid...
