Why would anybody be excited about having McNabb at this stage in his career?...Minnesota should finish last in the division w/ or w/o him...their defense is in shambles, and McNabb will be on the shelf w/in a game or two of division play...his old ass won't be able to withstand the abuse...Packers, Lions and Bears will blitz him into retirement...

How can effective can Mcnabb be when he is over 260 lbs, has lost a step or two and is not an accuarate passer? At least they still have AP.

I just read something dated June 2011, that states he's been training and he's in great shape..listed at 220 and working out daily during the lockout

I was listening to a Philadelphia sports talk show yesterday and one of the local guys sources said he was at 260. No matter what weight he is I don't think he will be that effective. Although, i do think Shiancoe will have a good year because mcnabb loves throwing it to his TE.

Santonio Holmes..5 years/50mil..

what a fucking joke. Jets throwing an awful lot of money around, especially for a 2nd tier receiver. holmes getting paid like a upper echelon receiver, with that qb is a ripple in pay scale we probably didnt need to see.

this is the kind of contract that can affect the league negatively for years..holdouts..players wanting restructured contracts..disgusting move. 24 million guranteed money..

you want to bet Andre Johnson is on the phone right now with his agent?

^ No kidding...if i was a truly elite receiver, I'd be calling down the thunder as well...as far as comparative earning potential is concerned, it's an almost Werth-Pujols parallel for a guy like Johnson...

Jets needed Holmes in the worst way and I like him, I think he is a really good WR.

That said, when you get into a bidding war with the Redskins bad things happen and Holmes shouldn't be the WR with the most guaranteed money.

McNabb has always been a pussy. Dude started crying because he was losing the Superbowl when there was still time on the clock. Wouldn't want that guy on my team.

Haynesworth to the Pats for a 5th round pick..

nice..low risk, very high upside. instantly makes that defense better. Bellichick for the big win..he starts acting up, see ya. He needs this gig now, at this point in his career. They did right by other problem children (Dillon, Moss).

I heard about this this morning. Nice low risk pickup like you were saying. Do the Patriots still use the 3-4 defense? I know that's what the Redskins used last year and Haynesworth didn't really excel but Bellichick is a genius so I'm sure he'll find a way for him to work out.

Eagles signed Jason Babin to a 5 year contract. Way to give a long term contract to an overachiever. Another brilliant move by Andy Reid. (this was sarcastic by the way.)

The Pats already have a nose tackle (and a damn fine one), so there isnt a problem..key up on mismatches in the nickel defense would be where you would see Haynesworth's value skyrocket

That Babin signing is very uninspiring to say the least.

Deshean Jackson has begun his holdout. I guess we might be seeing the ramifications of the Santonio Holmess signing sooner than later.

I read Haynesworth's contract is not guaranteed this season so if he does cause any headaches they can just dump him at the cost of the draft pick they gave up to get him. That was a really nice deal for the Pats.

First, a signing that nobody is talking about: Breaston to the Chiefs...holy shit, is that team stacked offensively...not sure if he'll play opposite Bowe or in the slot...either way, they'll be a nightmare for opposing defenses...

Whew!...really glad the Eagles landed Babin before Lovie tried to add to his burgeoning collection of DEs in Chicago...never understood why the Bears were interested in him from the get-go...sometimes I think Lovie thinks he was one DE away from beating the Pack last year...Lovie needs to get his shit straight and pursue the Pack's OL Colledge once he is cut...

I'll join the praise echo re: the Haynesworth signing...if he performs up to snuff, he gives Belichick a shit-ton of schemes to work with...him and Wilfork in tandem could be a thing of beauty...and if Haynesworth shits the bed again, the Pats aren't on the rope for much...

If the Dolphins plan to make Bush a feature back, they're fucked three ways from Tues...he'll get eaten alive in that division...and I heard this morning that the Dolphins are taking a hard look at reuniting Orton w/ Brandon Marshall, which would almost make amends for the Bush signing...

Just saw where Adrian Peterson ripped the Vikes for letting Sidney Rice go...tough call for Rice...either stay in Minnesota where the QB situation is shit or go to Seattle where WRs go to pasture...

Hate on Mcnabb all you want but the QB situation in Seattle is worse than Minny.

Rice followed the money....

Didn't the Dolphins draft a RB so Bush should just be a scat back?

My only problem with the Chiefs offense, is the QB..Matt Cassell was a product of the offense in his tenure with the Pats. He's a stiff. Sure he has a decent arm and has youth on his side, but his pocket presence is far from confident and what Ive seen of him just reminds me more of his sporadic play in his time with NE. Bowe was a fantastic way for him to put up some wins/numbers last year, but I tend to think of it as more of a Culpepper/Moss hookup, (where the arm/height come in to play more than skills) than a say..Manning to Wayne

if the Dolphins plan on using Bush as anything more than a change of pace/3rd down back/returner, they are in a world of hurt.

Kyle Orton to the Fish makes alot of sense..No one likes the guy and he's always the first piece to be considered for trade, but he put up some more than decent numbers last year with the Broncos, who offensively are a mess. Chad Henne is serviceable, but I seem to remember him fading bigtime down the stretch last year. C'mon..Orton to Marshall was a nice tandem there for a bit.

Tavaris Jackson is a fraud.

What is wrong with a player (Simeon Rice;moreso on potential) when they jump on an offer from Seattle, rather than wait and see how the market sets? Receivers/Backs go there to die. Ask Deion Branch and Shaun Alexander what's up. Pete Carroll is a great rah rah guy, and he may be able tap into some of the raw talent, but hand clapping only gets you so far in this league.

I'm going to disagree with you about Shaun Alexander. He had a really nice career with the Seahawks. He was one of the top backs in the league for a good 6 year stretch.

If it was last year, I'd agree w/ you 110% re: Cassell...however, the guy made me a believer last year...is he a Pro-Bowler?...nah, and he still gets antsy in the pocket...however, he had a solid season (27 TD, 7 INT), he showed toughness by playing thru injuries that would've sidelined him in the past, and he's become a helluva team leader...he is the reason the offense has gelled...one of my favorite memories of last season occurred at the end of Charles' 90-yard run against the Rams when he came up short with leg cramps...I had seats in the end zone and watched as Cassel was the first player to get to him - 90 yards later...Cassel had Charles laughing his ass off as he rubbed his leg until the trainer got there...not many QBs do that kind of thing...was almost Favre like...

Kevin Kolb deal is finally complete. He gets a 5 year $63 million deal with $20 guaranteed from Arizona. Eagles get Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and a 2nd round pick.

Like the deal for Philly. Now they need to find themselves a capable back up qb.

I should have been more clear. It's not that Alexander was a bad back, he had the numbers year after year and career numbers were decent/good..it's just he never was a 'spotlight' back and flew well under the radar on poor to mediocre teams. Just kind of faded out quietly, but I'm east coast, so never heard or saw much of him. Thats pretty much what i meant on him..Deion Branch went for the cash grab in his situation, not to win..I just dont understand it..to play for a franchise that doesnt make winning a focal point..but once again, coming from an area that is shrouded and spoiled by championship teams.

If you think Rice and Tavaris will change that team around and put of monster numbers.. I guess you see something I definitely don't

I stand behind my Cassell statement..just don't like him. He's in the same group that includes Garrard, Flacco, Henne, imo. Just lack something in the 'intangibles' department and keeps them on a second tier level. I guess the ghost of anyone that resembles Drew Bledsoe still haunts me..

If the Jets land the Raiders' DB whose name i butcher (Asomugha?), look out...I fucking hate the Jets, but that's a game changer...and if my Bears don't land a quality WR (Edwards, Smith), I might blow a gasket...w/ Rice, Breaston and the (hugely overpaid) Holmes off the board, I'm beginning to have my doubts...
