i know. this could possibly be the best head coach on the market. he should have got that job in greenbay over mccarthy. then he showed mad promise as the dolphins interem head coach before the screwed him too. this guy has got the shaft for the past 10 years and hes probably a better coach than either one of those teams have had since

Mike Sherman was the Green Bay coach before Mike McCarthy. Also, he never, ever coached in any capacity for Miami. What are you talking about?

Raiders sign Broncos D-Coordinator Dennis Allen as their Head Coach.

Mike Sherman's post-Green Bay career has been in a downward spiral...the dude was fired last month by Texas A&M - not exactly a powerhouse of a college football program...can't imagine why an NFL team would hire him as a head coach...coordinator, possibly...but as a head coach?

I was hoping for someone with NFL experience. Sherman went 500. with Texas a&m, didn't bother me at all. Schiano turned Rutgers around and apparently has Bellichicks endorsement for whatever thats worth. Of course his son goes to Rutgers. I guess we'll see.

Maybe it's just me but I don't recall a season thats had so many high ankle sprains. Hell, I'm not even EXACTLY sure what one is. They seem to take forever to heel though. I can't imagine gronkowski missing the superbowl but these things appear rather difficult to play on.

I'd retire yesterday if I were him

And the Colts counter.

Quote:
Although Peyton Manning has received medical clearance, members of the Colts organization are reportedly still concerned over the nerves in his neck and triceps.
Manning's neck has been stable for awhile, but the nerves had been causing numbness, atrophy, and loss of strength in Manning's triceps. The concern isn't whether Manning can play football; it's whether he can still do so at a level commensurate with NFL starters. Manning is doing his best to push Colts owner Jim Irsay's hand, and the Indianapolis Star's Bob Kravitz reiterates "he's not gonna be here" next season.

Numbness, atrophy, and loss of stength.....

Yeah, I'd rush myself back.

/sarcasm

If Manning doesn't retire he should still sit out another year to attempt to get healthy. However, if he does that he'll be in his mid to late 30's so I'm not even sure any team would want him. This isn't a knee or shoulder injury so I'm I'm agreement with everyone else that he should retire. He has nothing left to prove.

Quote:
Rebutting an ESPN report from Thursday evening, owner Jim Irsay tweeted early Friday that the Colts have not medically cleared Peyton Manning (neck surgeries) to play football in 2012.
It's clearer now than ever that Manning's camp fed ESPN's Chris Mortensen the news of his supposed medical clearance. "Peyton has not passed our physical," says Irsay, "nor has he been cleared to play for the Colts. Team statement coming on Friday." Colts doctors are reportedly worried about the nerves in Manning's neck and triceps. While Peyton is notifying interested teams he's healthy, the Colts still need the medical excuse to decline his $28M bonus.

And, of course, NOW Andrew Luck is saying he would love to play with and learn from Peyton Manning.

Also, Goodell is saying if LA gets a football team it will most likely be an expansion team, rather than a relocation of an existing team, and that he would bring in 2 new teams to the league instead of just one, so that there would remain an even number of teams.

It wasn't team doctors that cleared Peyton. It was the doctors that did the surgery. They cleared him to continue his nfl carreer. They didn't exactly clear him to play as they aren't team drs. They told him it would be alright to get ready to play

Godell announces Thursday Night Football expanded to 13 games.

That might convince me to sign up for NFL Network.

Yeah, I usually sign up for the standard package (though currently doing the economical one and get no sports at all) and the NFL Package was never included. Not sure how much extra it would cost to get, I'm hoping only a few dollars per month.

I think that is what it costs for me too. Best $6 I spend all year.
