The Eagles just signed Ronnie Brown to a one year deal. Their offense is absolutely disgusting. Imagine what Vick, McCoy, DeSean, Brown, and Maclin are going to do in the Wildcat. And if Young joins the mix it is fucking crazy what this team can do.

Another move from the Eagles I like.

And Saints sign DT Aubrayo Franklin to a 1 year deal. Great deal for them but curious how that was the best he could get, coming off a season where he ranked as the #2 run stopping interior lineman. What am I missing about this guy? I don't know anything about him other than what I have read but what I have read suggests teams in need of an interior lineman, like the Broncos, should have been in on him for a much more enticing offer than what NO just gave him.

Seahawks lure Zack Miller to Seattle. Seemed like he was a sure thing to return to Oakland....guess not.

Celek usually doesn't play in the Wildcat because the Birds use an extra blocker in the Wildcat. But, yeah, he's another weapon. I may be biased when I say this, but this team could average 35 points a game this year. The only weakness they have right now is defending the run. Hopefully, they can trade Samuel for a LB.

the only one that would work would be for patrick willis and that is never happening

What's next? An inter-division trade for Osi?! For fuck's sake, the Eagles are running the damn table via free agency.

Ryan Matthews...wow. First rounder.. Shows up to camp after a fumbling issue early on last year and then losing his starting job to Tolbert when he high sprained his ankle. Now he can't pass conditioning tests?

What the fuck is this kids deal? He think he would be able to just show up and go through the motions? Obv did nothing in the off season to make the Bolts coaching staff want to put him in more of a starters role. Dont hear anyone talking about it either.

I was thinking he might be a good, 'under the radar', type of fantasy player..but all Tolbert has to do is pass a conditioning test and he has the upper hand

On the Philadelphia mass movement of talent..good for the fans and definitely improves their chances of going far, if not to the end..but..

It doesnt take big names and bloated contracts to make a cohesive locker room. I have no problem with what they are doing, just HAS to work. The pressure is now on the Eagles coaching staff to get it done. If Vick gets hurt (which is a very high probability with his scrambling), youre looking at a big dose of Vince Young.

Washington tried this talent overload thing, and it crippled them for years. They are still reeling from having to purge all those contracts. Philly knows they have to probably go into Green Bay/Meadowlands on the way to the Lombardi Trophy, so these moves make too much sense if the owner gives the green light. Reid is now on the clock.

Eagles DR Mike Patterson's 4 minute seizure yesterday was not dehydration but a brain AVM (arteriovenous malformation), a tangle of the blood vessels in the skull, and will require surgery or radiation. Scary stuff.

Braylon Edwards to SF for 1 year, $1 million. Can be $3.5 million if he nets 90 receptions and makes the pro bowl.

Jets go out and sign Plaxico Burress for triple the cost....there must be some behind the scenes shit going on with Edwards. I mean we know his legal issues, his dropping issues, but I just wouldn't think they are such a major issue that would force him to get such a crappy deal. There has to be something more to this, right?

^ Agreed...the Derrick Mason signing by the Jets puts an even bigger spotlight on this angle...not likely a physical problem with Edwards so much as something personal...

i dont understand it either because braylon was pretty much well liked by jet fans. maybe the 49ers want to horde all of the busts from the 05 draft

Braylon is purely off the field distractions, character issues and the company he keeps. He's on probation from several other run ins and he just was involved (though not arrested) in a bar fight where knifes and forks (?) were pulled. He's one of those bling daddies who travels with a posse (sound familiar?)

He's heading down the same road as Vick and Pacman. He should be called into the Goodells office and day now to answer to his off the field/nightlife choices.

He will more than likely be suspended this year for at least a game or 2, and possibly more if he keeps this horde wandering around with him. You want to tell me one or more isnt carrying a piece..matter of time before something happens

Maybe he can get 90 receptions this year but I highly doubt it. As long as Alex Smith is the quarterback it will be difficult. Plus, Davis, Crabtree and Gore will all get their receptions too so I think it's highly unlikely he will get that bonus money.

I'm a Bears fan, but I feel awful for the Lions...three draft picks are out w/ injuries...the Leshoure season ender is devastating and Fairley's injury will cost him the preseason...they may very well be cursed...that franchise can't catch a break...

that really is horrible for the lions. they really remind me of how the rams were back in 97 right before they went on their run. i still think that stafford will be a good qb. if he can stay healthy. it sucks about fairley but really how much does he need preseason. his job will be to get to a wide open qb because every other dlineman will be guarding suh. they also got chris houston from the falcons so he is an instant upgrade for the secondary. who cares about the injury to leshoure. they have their last 2 of their last 3 first round picks at tailback. one of them is bound to do something. the lions arent ready for the playoffs yeat because the bears and the fudgepackers will dominate that division but detroit should still win 8 or 9 games

The Leshoure loss is devastating...throws their offensive plans the window...Leshoure was supposed to be the thunder, Best, the lightning...Best showed last year he isn't ready to handle the load, especially in that division...don't know why I'm responding to a troll...

The Rams in 1997 were 5-11. They were 4-12 in 1998. I would consider the Rams more of an overnight success rather than a work in progress. Faulk didn't join the Rams until 1999 and Warner didn't get the full time starting job until 1999. Also, the Rams had weapons at every position. The Lions have some question marks. Stafford is decent but he is injury prone and needs to showcase his skills more before we can call him a great quarterback. The Lions have no running game. The Leshoure injury is huge but who knows what kind of running back he will develop into. Also, other than Calvin johnson, there no otehr weapons in the passing game. Pettigrew is decent but he's not top tier talent. I will agree with you that the Lions are making the right moves and in a few years could be a playoff team but I can't compare them to the Rams of the late 90's early 00's.
