At the homeless/runaway shelter for kids where I work, we've got 3 tonight. Have had them for a week now. Two, their mom is homeless, fleeing a paranoid delusion, and the other, nobody in his family wants him. This job is paradoxical in that it discourages any optimism I have about the human race, but I love these damn kids. In general they're pretty good kids.

We always have at least one or two during Christmas. Fucking people, man. On the upside, they're up late eating cookies, got some great presents donated (remote control cars and basketballs and gift cards), and are playing Wii and watching movies.

Merry Christmas, y'all, and Bah fucking Humbug.
