I wish there was a bassist who would bring back playing through vintage guitar amps/4x12" cabs. That late 60's, early 70's bass tone is a lost art.

Wow, I totally missed that it was Geezer's birthday. Go figure. I did listen to some Sabbath on Tuesday though, so I guess I celebrated anyway.

Agree with you about that tone as well, pretty much unmatched. Though I don't know if I'd trade what the retro bands are doing with low end these days. That's pretty much what makes the ones that sound good sound good, the bass tone.

I think that dude from Aunt Mary was the last bassist to have that tone :P

Yeah, I guess I can't really advocate against that sound. That's pretty right on. Been meaning to pick up Aunt Mary's Loaded for a while now.
