Weren't the tracks from Blood, apart from one or two, songs from the early '90's that never made it to a album?[/quote]

If I'm not mistaking, "Blood" was recorded in 2008, with most of the songs spawning from demos being re-worked and re-recorded from what was to be their 2nd full length back in the mid-90's? Officially released in 2009. Their self-titled was re-released from 1993. They are very different sounding to me, but I like most of both releases. I'm liking "Terminus" as well! So far, seems a little more diverse than "Blood"? A lot of mellow/heavy parts. "Hippie Crack" is definately the most immediate. I'm liking "Ritual", "Circles" and "Terminus" too! Still processing most of it.

Damn! Just heard "Recursion" and "Galaxies' Lament", and I might be slightly buzzed??? Lovin it! I have all 3 Snail albums on random right now, while I'm making home-made fajitas. Sinco de mayo and all... Blood is freakin awesome too! "Underwater", "Mental Models" and "Via/Penny Dreadful" are great songs! Underwater reminds me of something Failure would've done in their prime. "Hippy Crack" rocks!!! Feelin pretty damn good right now! Cheers!

Great album from start to end, but why won't Snail ship international? I ordered the cd+tshirt without reading this thread, and was promptly refunded. ATiH is going to charge a lot more.

Too lazy/busy to get to a post office? or too far away from the next one possibly.

You can also get it from CD Baby.

Hi guys, we really appreciate you wanting to buy direct from us. Mark is the web master and he's working to install a component into the shopping cart that will allow international shipping. It should be resolved this week. Rest assured we're working on it, as we want to do this as direct as we can if possible so we can provide T-shirt packages everywhere and keep the price down. Thanks so much for all the love shown here, we're feeling it and it's awesome to hear the very generous feedback. We will send a notice through all the channels when we get the international deal worked out.

thanks,
Matt

And yes, regarding the Blood question, all the material except Mental Models, Via/Penny Dreadful, and Underwater was written in 1994 (and I have a 4-track recorded cassette demo to prove it!) LOL. Out of that stuff, I think everything has been released except "Fast Woman", which I think will finally see the light of day on the next album. The Fuzz will be in full effect on the one in the works-Goin' back to the old school, velcro fly buzz.

hah! Let me see if we can put something up. You might be surprised how close some of the recordings are to what came out. Mark was a madman with the four-track. Boris was done at the same session as Committed and Relief.

Regarding my 'Blood' comment, in light of the fact that it's 1994 material, then it makes sense why it sounds the way it does. Besides, if a band's got a formula that works for them, why change it (that much)?

Very cool that you guys are still around, Matt. I know my friend and I were spinning (on cassette) the s/t and the ep way back in the early 90's. Snail, with Kyuss, Monster Magnet, and a few others were revelations for us.

Wow, that's gay. Not that there's anything wrong with that mind you.

And thanks Godshifter! Hope you like the new one. No offense taken on the Blood comment - either you liked it or you didn't, no worries man, we all have individual tastes that change over time.

Bump.

I highly recommend Terminus. It's brief, but worth repeating. If someone had handed this album to 13-year-old Crutch, he'd be in trouble for carving "Snail" on his desk.

What do you mean by brief? Its around 45 min., perfect album-length in my book. But its a great album, nevermind the playing time. Contender for my Top Ten this year for sure.

I just mean it feels brief. And brief was the wrong term to use; concise is more appropriate. It wasn't a complaint.

I agree since I always like to return to this album for a complete listen for a few weeks now. Rare thing in these times of having a bunch of new downloads every day.

"You bring a horse for me?"
"Looks like we're shy one horse."
"No. You brought two too many..."

Do you charge extra for larger sizes?
